Dr Andrew Paul
Chiropractor + Cranial Specialist + Sacro-Occipital Technique Diplomat
My chiropractic way of life started when I was in my late teens. Up until then I was like a lot of the population and did not know what Chiropractic was or how it could help me.
Like most people who first seek Chiropractic, I was suffering from a symptom. In my case, it was neck pain and regular headaches that I had experienced from pre-teenager times. My love of playing rugby especially as a forward meant that my neck was coming out of this arrangement second best. I went to the medical doctors for brain scans and investigations and got no answers except “try this medication”. Finally, when I was 19, a friend referred me to her chiropractor which gave me near-instant relief after 10-plus years of discomfort.
I still remember the day I decided to become a chiropractor. About 2 months after gaining relief from my first few chiropractic sessions, I found myself backpacking the world, skiing in Europe and America.
One day after a lucky escape from an avalanche in the French Alps, I was looking across the valley to Mount Blanc and it crystallised in my thoughts that I wanted to be a chiropractor.
So started my life journey.
After graduating in 1982, I set up practice in Bondi Junction where I was privileged to care for folks that extended over many generations. Though my motto has always been “I will care for you from the womb to the tomb”, my passion has been paediatrics. It is the care of children that I see the greatest beneficial impact of balancing the nervous system.
As the twig is bent, so the tree grows. Providing Chiropractic care for babies and children has a profound impact on the nervous system which is a lot quicker than adults who are carrying around a lifetime of stress layering.
When you witness a child who has suffered from recurring health issues or learning difficulties, improve or resolve, you know that chiropractic is something for everyone to experience.
I have specialised in Cranial Chiropractic and for nearly 40 years I have taught of one of the primary chiropractic techniques; Sacro-Occipital Technique, all across the globe.
This journey I have been on has taken me from an initial perspective that Chiropractic was for musculoskeletal issues, to the wonders of Chiropractic as a method of balancing the nervous system. And thus, human potential can express itself more efficiently and move you from survival mode of pain, suffering and symptoms to health, wellness and vitality.
After 33 years in my Bondi Junction clinic, I sold it to free up my time to explore new experiences. I now work as a locum at Home. Chiropractic Studio and others across the globe. This has given me the freedom to regularly travel the world.
Every second year I have led a chiropractic expedition for Hands on India in marginalised communities in West Bengal.
This charity funds 6 schools that educate about 1000 children as well as funding over 3000+ women in empowerment groups.
I am grateful to my beautiful wife, Deb, for sharing my life and I have 2 sons, Angus and Sean who make me very proud.
